Havana's mother encouraged her to study fashion. Born in Akwesasne, Ontario, she was inspired to be an indigenous designer by watching her mother and grandmother design traditional clothing at a young age and her auntie do runway shows. Her female role models all around her while growing up inspired her to join the fashion industry. 
Havana will continue to add her traditional background and language to her creativity, audience, and creations to tell her story within the fashion industry. She will also use her talents, which she has learned and acquired throughout her schooling, to change the industry.
